Behavioural Psychologist

Traustr wants to fix this problem. We’re seeking an experienced organizational psychologist to help us build the tools to more accurately determine the right fit. We are starting with instruments that exist today but, but over time we wish to build a new taxonomy and related technology to enable clients to more accurately, more quickly, and less expensively select employees that are most capable of helping them realize their business vision and goals. We’re an early stage start-up with a small team of committed people with a passion for solving this problem.

Objectives of this Role

Help lead the creation of a unique approach to describing and assessing human traits that can be analyzed to better match people to roles and activities that maximize their potential

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product design and engineering to develop an understanding of needs

Work with the product team to refine current thinking and build a new model that more accurately describes the “fundamental personal traits” that can be analyzed to assess which most closely match an organization's corporate DNA

Provide thought leadership on behalf of Traustr and credibly represent the company and its solutions in settings such as conferences, industry associations, and other relevant communities

Structure and lead the research needed to define a dynamic taxonomy that evolves over time as technology evolves and the nature of work changes

Work with the product and engineering teams as they use artificial intelligence to identify the “fundamental personal traits” that actually determine performance in different contexts

Help recruit other subject matter experts as needed

Work with team members to determine sources of data within typical clients

Research, evaluate, and rank assessment instruments for their current predictive capability

Work with product and engineering to integrate the Traustr solution into a diagnostic toolset to be used to assess organizational and team “culture”, as well as individuals being hired.

Help identify new variables that will be useful in predicting performance and that can be incorporated in the model

Lead the process to ensure face validity and academic accreditation needed for marketplace credibility

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-graduate degree in Behavioral Science, Neuro Science, or psychology

  • 7+ years of experience in organizational behaviour or a related field

  • Proficiency with mathematics, and statistical analysis

  • Deep subject matter knowledge of assessment approaches, tools, and techniques

  • Comfort working in an early-stage, pre-revenue start-up environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in stats, applied math, or related discipline

  • 2+ years of project management experience

  • Professional certifications

This means using available data to understand the reasons for failure and the attributes that would have prevented it. We need the mathematical and statistical expertise you’d expect, but also a natural curiosity and creative mind that loves taking on big hairy data challenges. We’re an early stage start-up with a small team of committed people with a passion for solving this problem.

Objectives of this Role

Collaborate with product design and engineering to develop an understanding of needs

Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis

Communicate findings to the product and engineering teams

Design the analytics for meaningful insights from increasing data stores

Keep us current with technical and industry developments

Responsibilities

Create a data strategy, identifying and integrating new data sources and datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities and work closely with the engineering to strategize and execute the development of data capabilities

Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains and industries

Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables

Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy

Analyze data for trends and patterns, and Interpret data with a clear objective in mind

Implement analytical models into production by collaborating with software developers and machine learning engineers.

Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to operational systems

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in data science
  • Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
  • Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience
  • Experience with current toolsets and programming languages  
  • Comfort working in an early-stage, pre-revenue start-up environment
